Our stylist assistant program gives newly licensed stylists the hands-on training, technical education and real-world salon experience needed to grow with confidence and prepare for a career behind the chair.

WHAT IS TAZEH?
Tazeh is Modern Salon & Spa’s advanced education program for stylists beginning their careers. Through structured education, hands-on practice and mentorship from experienced Modern educators, stylists continue developing the technical and professional skills they’ll use daily in the salon.
The ~29 week program is part of a larger career path at Modern, beginning as an Assistant Stylist and progressing into a Mantra Stylist before continuing through Modern’s stylist levels.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
Tazeh goes beyond practicing services. The curriculum is designed to create a strong, consistent foundation across the skills that shape a successful stylist.
- Styling
Develop a deeper understanding of hair, styling techniques and creating polished finishes. - Color
Build your knowledge of color theory, consultations, formulation, application, color balancing and corrective concepts. - Highlighting + HeadMapping
Learn Modern’s standardized HeadMapping language, foil placement, technique, formulation and service timing. - Women’s Cutting
Strengthen foundational cutting techniques including one-length shapes, graduation, layering, face framing, long layers and short cuts. - Men’s Cutting
Develop technical cutting skills while learning how to create a comfortable, elevated experience for Modern’s male guests. - Guest Experience + Professional Development
Learn how technical skill, communication, consultation and professionalism come together to create the Modern guest experience.
LEARN BY DOING
Throughout the program, stylists work through technical education, assignments, test-outs and required live models, giving them opportunities to put what they’re learning into practice before progressing to the next stage of their career.
Your development doesn’t stop in the classroom. You’ll also work as a paid Assistant Stylist alongside an established Modern stylist, gaining firsthand experience in the flow of a professional salon, guest interactions and the day-to-day realities of building a career.

Graduating from Tazeh marks the beginning of your career behind the chair at Modern. As a Mantra Stylist, you’ll continue developing your craft, building your clientele and working toward advancement through Modern’s stylist levels.
